CHOOSING OR TAKING PHOTOS:
Choose a photo that you would like to have turned into a portrait. To enable me to see all the detail of the subject, the photo needs to be clear with the face size in the photo being as large as possible. The detail and quality of the photo will directly affect the detail I can place in the portrait.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:
If you have any questions about the suitability of a photo, please contact me.
SENDING YOUR PHOTOS:
You can either arrange to post your photograph or e-mail a digital photo or scan along with your order. If scanning the photo, I recommend scanning to 300dpi and in full colour. When e-mailing, be sure not to compress or reduce the quality of the image (If your email programmes automatically does this, turn off that feature). Original photos are treated with great respect and are always returned.
TURNAROUND TIME:
My turnaround time is approximately 2-3 weeks but will ultimately depend on my current workload. Christmas is obviously a very busy time of year. I begin getting very busy for Christmas around September, so get in early to avoid dissapointment.
UPDATES OF YOU COMMISSION:
If you wish to keep up to date with the progress of your portrait, update scans can be sent to you via email, or posted on my blog. Once complete, a completed scanned image can also be emailed to you before shipping. Many people prefer to wait until the portrait is complete before seeing it, so let me know your preference.
SHIPPING:
Your portrait will be carefully packaged in a heavy duty shipping tube and delivered by First Class Royal Mail - Recorded Delivery with full insurance. Portraits do not come framed due to the individuality of personal taste and décor. However, advice can be provided on mounting/matting and framing.
PRINTS OF YOUR COMMISSION:
You can now order Fine Art Giclée prints of your portrait. This makes for a great present to give to family members. The prints will be fine-art quality, printed with archival inks, and on acid-free archival paper. Prints are an additional £15 each with no extra shipping charge (if ordered before original commission has been posted).
Please feel free to e-mail me at nstacey@hotmail.com with your order or any questions you may have. Alternatively, you can call me directly on 07887 812 392.

When photographing animals, get down to their level rather than standing over them.

If using a digital camera, try taking lots of photos one after the other - you're sure to get one where the eyes are open!
